About Bonner County Republican Party

The Bonner County Republican Party is the official governing body of the Republican Party in Bonner County, a scenic region in the northern Idaho panhandle centered on the resort community of Sandpoint. The committee coordinates Republican operations across the county, supporting candidates in a county that blends traditional ranching, timber, and working-class communities with an influx of relatively affluent migrants drawn by Lake Pend Oreille, the Schweitzer Mountain ski resort, and Sandpoint’s cultural amenities. Bonner County sent former Sen. Shawn Keough — the longest-serving female Idaho senator at the time of her 2018 retirement — to the Idaho Senate for over 20 years. The committee works closely with the Idaho Republican Party and coordinates with neighboring Kootenai County Republicans on panhandle-wide campaigns, supporting Republican candidates in District 1 legislative races and local county offices.
