Conservation Voters for Idaho (CVI) is an environmental advocacy organization and political action committee led by Executive Director Alexis Pickering, dedicated to protecting Idaho’s natural resources, public lands, clean water, and outdoor heritage. CVI tracks the environmental voting records of all Idaho legislators through its annual legislative scorecard, rating each member on conservation-related votes and using those grades to inform endorsements and campaign contributions. The organization’s Action Fund arm participates directly in Idaho elections, making CVI one of the primary environmental political voices in Idaho. CVI prioritizes water rights policy — critical in an arid state where agricultural, municipal, and ecological water demands frequently conflict — along with public lands management, mining regulation, and protection of Idaho’s salmon and steelhead runs listed under the Endangered Species Act.
