About Idaho Community Bankers Association
The Idaho Community Bankers Association (ICBA-Idaho) is a trade association representing independent community banks and financial institutions operating across Idaho’s 44 counties. The organization advocates for its member institutions before the Idaho Legislature, Congress, and state and federal regulatory agencies on issues including state banking regulation, agricultural lending laws, mortgage rules, and financial institution taxation. Community banks play a particularly critical role in Idaho’s rural economy, providing financing for potato farms, dairy operations, small businesses, and residential mortgages in communities that larger regional and national banks often underserve. The association’s PAC supports candidates who favor a regulatory environment that allows community banks to compete effectively and serve their local communities. ICBA-Idaho coordinates with the national Independent Community Bankers of America and works alongside the Idaho Bankers Association on shared legislative priorities, while also championing the community bank model — locally owned, locally governed — as the backbone of rural Idaho finance.
