The Nez Perce County Republican Central Committee is the official governing body of the Republican Party in Nez Perce County, located in north-central Idaho with its county seat in Lewiston, Idaho’s only inland seaport on the Snake River. The committee organizes Republican party operations throughout the county, supporting candidates in local, state, and federal races in a county with a more politically diverse electorate than most rural Idaho counties. Nez Perce County’s economy blends agriculture (particularly wheat and barley on the Camas Prairie), grain export through Lewiston’s port, forestry, manufacturing, and the presence of Lewis-Clark State College.
