About Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood of Greater Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands serves Idaho patients as part of the national Planned Parenthood Federation of America. As of late 2024, Planned Parenthood operates a single remaining clinic in Idaho, located in Meridian — the Twin Falls clinic closed in December 2024 following Idaho’s near-total abortion ban enacted in 2022. The organization continues to provide contraception, STI testing and treatment, cancer screenings, and other preventive reproductive healthcare at its Meridian location, while offering telehealth services for patients who cannot travel to a clinic. Planned Parenthood’s political action arm, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, actively participates in Idaho elections, endorsing and financially supporting candidates who favor protecting reproductive rights and contraception access. Idaho’s aggressive restriction of reproductive healthcare since 2022 — including criminal penalties for providers — has dramatically reduced the services available to Idaho patients and made Idaho one of the most difficult states in the nation for Planned Parenthood to operate.
