Nampa City Councilmember Victor Rodriguez has announced his candidacy for the Idaho Senate. He will be running as a Republican for the District 12 Nampa seat in the upcoming May 21 primary election.
Rodriguez has been involved in Nampa city government and committees since his retirement after 38 years in Idaho law enforcement. He previously worked as a homicide detective at the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office in Idaho Falls.

Council member Victor Rodriguez is the only Latino on the Nampa City Council, elected in 2017. He told BoiseDev since being elected, he received many phone calls from community members regarding Fuentes’ behavior.
