POLITICAL ORGANIZATION
Idaho Education Association/PACE
About
The Idaho Education Association (IEA) is the state's largest teachers' union, representing approximately 12,000 public school educators, education support professionals, and higher education faculty across Idaho's 115 school districts and eight college and university campuses. Its political action arm, PACE (Political Action Committee for Education), is one of the most active and consistently funded education-focused PACs in Idaho politics. IEA/PACE endorses and contributes to candidates who support increased education funding, competitive teacher salaries, expanded pre-kindergarten programs, and strong public school systems. The organization advocates at the Idaho Legislature on school funding, teacher compensation, and policies affecting working conditions for Idaho's educators. Idaho ranks consistently near the bottom nationally in per-pupil education spending, making teacher salary increases and school funding among the organization's most persistent legislative priorities. IEA also represents classified staff including bus drivers, custodians, and paraprofessionals, and coordinates with the National Education Association on federal education policy advocacy.
