About

The Idaho Health Care Association PAC is the political action arm of the Idaho Health Care Association (IHCA), a trade organization representing skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, intermediate care facilities, and other long-term care providers across Idaho. IHCA advocates before the Idaho Legislature and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare on issues critical to the long-term care industry, including Medicaid reimbursement rates, staffing ratio requirements, licensing standards, and facility inspection processes. Idaho's Medicaid program covers long-term care for low-income seniors and adults with disabilities, making the Medicaid appropriation one of the most consequential budget decisions for the industry. The PAC supports candidates attentive to the needs of Idaho's senior care sector and who support adequate funding for long-term care services. As Idaho's population ages — with the state's senior population projected to nearly double by 2040 — long-term care policy has become an increasingly significant area of legislative debate, and IHCA is one of the leading voices for the industry and the residents it serves.
