The Idaho Potato Industry PAC represents the political interests of Idaho's potato farming and processing industries, the state's most iconic agricultural sector and a cornerstone of Idaho's agricultural economy. Idaho is the nation's leading producer of potatoes, generating approximately $1 billion in annual farm-gate receipts and supporting thousands of jobs in farming, processing, packing, transportation, and related industries. The PAC works to ensure that state and federal policies support potato growers, processors, shippers, and related businesses — particularly on irrigation and water rights critical in the Snake River Plain's semi-arid climate, transportation infrastructure for moving bulk agricultural product, and workforce policy affecting the seasonal agricultural labor supply. The PAC supports candidates who back agricultural water rights, favorable tax treatment for farming operations, and highway and rail infrastructure critical to Idaho's export-dependent potato industry. The organization coordinates with the Idaho Farm Bureau, the Idaho Potato Commission, and other agricultural organizations on shared legislative priorities.
