Chris Hansen

Chris Hansen

District 26 House B

Chris is a third generation Idahoan who graduated from the College of Idaho with a degree in History and Psychology. He is currently a high school math teacher in Hailey, working with the next generation of Idahoans to be prepared for work in the 21st century. Chris’ wife and two young sons- ages 2 and 5- are the reason he is in this race. Chris believes in common sense legislation that helps Idaho’s working families on those things closest to their pocketbook: child care, health care, and housing.

He trusts local people to make local decisions and believes the purpose of government is to serve tax-paying citizens and create solutions. Chris believes in public education- in greater opportunities for high school students in Career and Technical Education and fully funding and supporting K-3 literacy. As a hunter and outdoorsman, he believes in public access and protecting clean air and water on working landscapes. Chris champions the Open Primaries Initiative and ballot initiatives that he believes keep the Idaho government responsible, moderate, and working on issues that matter.
