Who we are
IdahoVoters.com is operated by Snake River Strategies LLC, 408 S Eagle Rd, Suite 205, Eagle, ID 83616 (snakeriverstrategies.com). This policy describes how we collect and use information when you visit idahovoters.com. Questions may be directed to info@snakeriverstrategies.com.
Information we collect
We collect information in two ways: automatically through your use of the site, and directly when you submit it to us.
Automatically collected
When you visit the site, standard server logs and analytics tools may collect your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and time of visit. This data is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used and to diagnose technical problems. We do not sell, trade, or share this data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Ballot lookup tool
The ballot lookup tool asks for your home address to identify your legislative district. This address is sent to a geocoding service to determine your precinct. It is not stored on our servers, logged to a database, or retained after your session ends. We do not record, store, or share addresses entered into the ballot lookup.
Contact form
If you submit the contact form on the About page, we collect your name, email address, and message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to marketing lists or share them with third parties.
Free accounts and email updates
You can create a free account by entering your email address. We send you a sign-in link (no password). When you sign up we store your email address and the page you signed up from. In your account you may also choose to give us your name, street address, city, state, zip code and mobile phone number, set your email and text message preferences, and send us feedback about a candidate.
- How we use it. To keep you signed in, to email you election results, candidate and ballot updates and, later, updates about legislation, to match you to your precinct and district, to review feedback, and to ask for support of the guide from time to time. Newsletters may include sponsored content that is labeled as such.
- Text messages. We text you only if you check the separate text-message box and give your number. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Consent to texts is not a condition of anything.
- Feedback. We do not publish your feedback without your consent. If you check the box allowing us to quote it, we may use quotes in future profile updates; we check new claims against reliable sources first.
- Your choices. Change or turn off any email or text preference, download your data, or delete your account in your account page at /account/. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
- Sharing. We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that run these features for us (our database and sign-in provider Supabase, our email delivery provider, and Cloudflare for spam protection), and when the law requires.
- Test of wording. We record, without your name or email, which version of the sign-up pop-up wording a browser saw and whether it was skipped or used, to improve the page.
Advertising
The site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services and Google’s ad settings to control personalized ads. Ads on this site, including campaign ads, are paid advertising and are not an endorsement by us.
Cookies and analytics
IdahoVoters.com may use browser cookies and similar tracking technologies for analytics and to remember certain preferences (such as your last-viewed district). We may use a third-party analytics service (such as Google Analytics) to understand traffic patterns in aggregate. These tools may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.
Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete them. Doing so will not meaningfully affect your ability to use this site.
Service providers
We use service providers to run the site, including web hosting and form handling (Netlify) and a database (Supabase). They process data on our behalf and only to provide those services. See the Terms of Use for the rules that apply to using the site.
Third-party links and data sources
Candidate profiles link to external sources including campaign websites, campaign finance disclosures on the Idaho Secretary of State website, and social media profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.
Candidate data displayed on this site is drawn from public records: filings with the Idaho Secretary of State, official legislative biographies, and public campaign materials. This is public information collected and republished in the public interest to assist voters.
Candidate profile data
All candidate and elected official profiles on this site are based on public records and public statements. We do not collect personal data directly from candidates — profiles are compiled from official government filings, public biographical sources, and public campaign materials.
If you are a candidate and believe information on your profile is factually incorrect, you may request a correction via the contact form on our About page. We do not remove candidates from the guide or alter information drawn from official government filings.
Data retention
Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, typically no longer than 12 months. Account information is kept until you delete your account or ask us to. Aggregate analytics data may be retained longer for trend analysis. We do not retain ballot lookup address queries.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Your rights
If you have submitted information to us (e.g., through the contact form) and wish to review, correct, or delete it, contact us at info@snakeriverstrategies.com. Idaho residents may also have rights under applicable state privacy law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
