Frank VanderSloot

Frank VanderSloot, Executive Chairman of Melaleuca, Inc., was raised on a farm near Sandpoint, Idaho. Growing up, Frank took charge of the family farm while his father worked on the railroad, instilling in him a strong work ethic and a deep connection to his Idaho roots. As the first in his family to attend college, Frank graduated debt-free from Brigham Young University with a degree in business management. After a successful career with companies like ADP, Frank founded Melaleuca in 1985, building it into one of Idaho’s most successful companies.

Melaleuca: The Wellness Company
Headquartered in Idaho Falls, Melaleuca is a global wellness company with over 400 products that promote health, sustainability, and value. As one of Idaho’s largest private employers, Melaleuca plays a vital role in the local economy, with the majority of its jobs based in East Idaho. Frank led the company as CEO for 37 years before transitioning to his current role as Executive Chairman, continuing to guide its mission of enhancing lives.

Supporting Idaho’s Economy and Community
Frank has founded several businesses that contribute to Idaho’s economy, including Riverbend Ranch, which operates one of the nation’s largest Black Angus herds, and Riverbend Media Group, which manages local radio stations and digital communications. His efforts have preserved critical industries, including saving the East Idaho dairy industry by acquiring a struggling cheese factory, ensuring the livelihoods of hundreds of families.

Philanthropy and Advocacy
Frank’s commitment to Idaho extends to philanthropy and policy advocacy. He helped pass the Idaho Patient Act to protect residents from unethical medical debt practices. Through the Melaleuca Foundation, he has supported local nonprofits like food banks, law enforcement, and community organizations. His sponsorship of the annual Melaleuca Freedom Celebration in Idaho Falls brings the community together to honor veterans and service members with the largest fireworks display west of the Mississippi.

Recognition and Legacy
Frank VanderSloot has received numerous awards, including the Horatio Alger Award, induction into the Idaho Republican Party Hall of Fame, and the John and Abigail Adams Award for his efforts to help Idahoans facing medical debt. Whether through his leadership of Melaleuca or his wide-ranging contributions to Idaho’s economy, culture, and community, Frank VanderSloot remains one of Idaho’s most impactful and respected leaders.
