Ivan Hurlburt

Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Ivan pursued education at the New Mexico Military Institute and Sam Houston State in Texas, while working for the Texas corrections department and serving in the Texas National Guard.

Commissioned in the United States Army, Ivan completed international training and a graduate degree in Homeland Security. After 20 years of service, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, he retired.

Married to Anita, an attorney from Norway, for 20 years, they have two sons attending local public schools. Their eldest aims for the 2028 Olympic skateboarding team, while the youngest excels as a pianist.

In addition to owning a Boise small business, Ivan is active in nonprofits, previously serving as vice president of the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals. An avid runner and member of the Boise Area Running Club, he has completed 32 marathons and is preparing for Boston. In his spare time, he enjoys restoring old objects.
