Jack Nelsen
District 26 House B
Jack Nelsen, an Idaho native, has a profound connection to Southern Idaho’s agriculture, water, and education sectors. With a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s in education, Jack initially taught band and music in the Wendell School District before transitioning to manage his family’s dairy farm full-time. His community involvement is extensive, having served on the Jerome County Planning and Zoning Commission, Mid-Snake Water Commission, the Jerome County Republican Central Committee, and as a member of the Jerome Rotary Club. Since November 2016, he has been a member of the CSI Board of Trustees, where he is a staunch advocate for technical education and a supporter of the CSI’s Scholarship program. Jack’s passion for the outdoors, especially fishing and skiing, traces back to cherished childhood days in the Wood River Valley. He shares his love for the Magic Valley with his wife of 42 years, Emily, and their three sons, Chris, Greg, and Matt, along with their families.
