Pro-Life is the Constitution Party candidate for Governor of Idaho in the November 3, 2026 general election. He filed on February 27, 2026, and the Idaho Secretary of State lists his filing as approved. He had no Constitution Party primary opponent.
His name
Pro-Life is his legal name. His campaign website says he was born Marvin Thomas Richardson and states: "My (only) name is Pro-Life."
The Spokesman-Review reported on September 19, 2006: "Richardson went to court yesterday in Gem County and got the change approved."
Background
He is an organic strawberry farmer from Letha, in Gem County, and holds a bachelor's degree in political science and accounting from Brigham Young University, according to the Idaho Press. His wife, Kirsten Faith Richardson, is the Constitution Party candidate for State Senate District 14 in 2026.
Past campaigns
The Idaho Press reported in 2022 that his run for lieutenant governor that year was his 11th run for office. The Idaho Secretary of State's election database lists no general election win for him under the name Pro-Life. Results listed in that database:
- 2008, U.S. Senate (Independent): 8,662 votes, 1.3 percent
- 2010, Governor (Independent): 3,850 votes, 0.9 percent
- 2012, U.S. House District 1 (Independent): 7,607 votes, 2.4 percent
- 2014, Governor (Independent): 2,870 votes, 0.7 percent
- 2018, U.S. House District 1 (Constitution): 3,181 votes, 1.0 percent
- 2020, U.S. House District 2 (Constitution): 8,573 votes, 2.2 percent
- 2022, Lieutenant Governor (Constitution): 29,989 votes, 5.1 percent, after winning the Constitution Party primary unopposed with 376 votes
He told the Idaho Press in 2022: "The reason that my wife and I run is to make people accountable for hearing the truth – now, of course, that's the truth according to us."
His campaign website says: "Ammon Bundy, who I supported for Governor, switched from Republican to Independent in February, causing me to file for Lt. Governor. I wanted my voters to vote for Ammon Bundy." The Idaho Press quoted him in 2022: "That'd be nice to be Ammon Bundy's lieutenant governor."
Abortion and executive orders
His campaign website says: "If I become Governor in 2026, by my order, all baby murder facilities will remain closed and no abortifacients will be sold." It also says: "Baby murder will not end, nor will it slow down, until everyone allowing and encouraging these murders is punished with the same intensity as regular murder. This includes the mother, especially the mother."
The site says: "I know that a Governor's Executive Orders, or Emergency Orders, are not law. I will issue these orders to save life, health, and property expecting that the Legislature would react to them."
The Idaho Capital Sun asked the gubernatorial candidates about the Reproductive Freedom and Privacy Act, an abortion rights initiative on the November 3 ballot. Pro-Life said: "I would go to the Legislature immediately and tell them that they have the power to override a ballot initiative that the voters had voted on."
Social policy and religion
His campaign website says: "Idaho should have laws punishing adultery, fornication, homosexuality, and pornography." It also says: "Idaho needs laws that make transgenderism illegal."
On its More About Us page, the site says: "Followers of Islam, if faithful, will always support Sharia Law above our Constitution, therefore, we say that no faithful Muslim can take an honest oath to follow the Constitution. This should bar Sharia Muslims from being US citizens."
Federal authority, health and schools
His campaign website says: "We would like to see Idaho, by legislation, create a state militia to help in emergencies. The Federal government would have no control over this militia." It also says: "Idaho should enforce Idaho laws and ignore federal courts."
On vaccination, it says: "We are against mandated vaccination in every jurisdiction: government, business, military, education, and family, yes, even family." It also says: "We do not believe in childhood vaccination."
On public education, it says: "Public education fosters: group think, socialism, Communism, and selfishness, leading to un-Godly morals, poor manners, and a general lack of faith in God."
