Background

The Idaho Capital Sun's 2026 voter guide lists Roundy as 55, of Garden City, with the occupation "Child Safety First advocate" and 17 years lived in Idaho, as she supplied them.

Earlier campaign

Roundy ran for mayor of Garden City in the nonpartisan November 4, 2025 election. According to Ada County's official results, Bill Jacobs received 1,795 votes (62.09%), Molly Lenty 1,008 (34.87%) and Roundy 88 (3.04%).

Positions

In the Idaho Capital Sun's voter guide she wrote: "My top priority is child safety." She wrote that she would implement "a first-of-its-kind curriculum designed specifically to address and resolve complex trauma and combat the rising youth suicide rate." She wrote: "Second, I will reform the role of School Resource Officers."

On the Parental Choice Tax Credit she wrote: "I am in strong opposition to the Parental Choice Tax Credit." She wrote that diverting $50 million annually from the General Fund "deepens the budget crisis for our already underfunded public schools." On the school funding formula she wrote that Idaho should transition "toward a weighted student enrollment model."

Idaho Education News reported that at an August 4, 2026 forum of school administrators her remarks centered on child safety and on what she called a "civil conspiracy" involving child protection services. She said: "We can't allow Idaho teachers to participate in the erasure of parents." She said she wants "an education system where schools empower parents as the ultimate authority."

The October debate

CBS2 reported on October 1, 2026 that Critchfield withdrew from a KTVB debate unless Roundy was included. Roundy told CBS2 that excluding her "relies on arbitrary criteria." Idaho Education News reported that the KTVB debate had a fundraising threshold that the station says it has had in place for decades.

Campaign finance

The Idaho Capital Sun listed Roundy at $0 in contributions as of September 30, 2026, according to Idaho Sunshine. It listed Critchfield at $156,062 and Sundin Mitchell at $21,229.
