Background

In the CBS2/FOX9 candidate survey published August 24, 2026, he gave his hometown as "Raised in Centennial, Colorado, now living in Eagle."

Earlier campaign

Loesby ran for U.S. House in Idaho's 1st District in 2024 as the Libertarian candidate. He won the Libertarian primary unopposed with 516 votes. In the November 5, 2024 general election he received 9,594 votes (2.1%), according to the Idaho Secretary of State's election database. Republican Russ Fulcher won with 331,049 votes (71.0%). Democrat Kaylee Peterson received 118,656 (25.4%) and Brendan J. Gomez of the Constitution Party received 6,933 (1.5%).

Positions on immigration, in his words

In the CBS2/FOX9 survey, which says the responses were copied from what each candidate sent without alteration, Loesby wrote: "The biggest issue facing Idahoans today is the threat to their demographic security that replacement migration poses."

He also wrote: "As your Senator, I will push not only to enable the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, but the remigration of foreign ethnic enclaves which create political power bases that subvert US politics against the interests of the American people."

He continued: "If Americans are to have our homeland for our descendants, many legal immigrants and their children must be sent back to their own homelands."

The platform page on his campaign website says: "Close the Border. End Birthright Citizenship."

Positions on spending, federal land and foreign policy

In the survey he wrote: "I will push for all federal land in Idaho to be ceded to the State of Idaho". He also wrote: "Congress needs to aggressively cut entitlements, including the golden calf called Social Security".

At a September 30, 2026 candidate forum in Caldwell, which Risch declined to attend, the Idaho Capital Sun reported that Loesby proposed eliminating Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security to reduce spending and address the debt. It quoted him: "Congress needs to say, all right, if you want to keep sending our troops to die overseas for foreign governments, you're not getting any money, and in fact, we need to impeach the president and remove him for treason for sending American troops to die for other countries."

The Sun reported that Loesby said he believes Risch will win re-election but that people should vote for him as a way to "send a message to the Republican Party."

His campaign website's platform page says: "No member of the US military should be deployed anywhere outside US territory." It also says: "As your Congressman, I will work to repeal the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and all the rest of the ill-advised legislation from that era."

In his own description

In a March 15, 2024 post on his campaign website, he wrote about political dissent "of all types, whether it be radical secessionists like me, or parents concerned that there is pornography in their kindergarten library."
